If you have come across this site you are obviously a Swinburne student who is currently a member of SPC, or prehaps you are contemplating joining this prestigious and beautiful addition to a great university in Hawthorn. This site is dedicated to the listing of weekly events, updating of leaderboards, recruiting of new members and other general information concerning the Swinburne Poker Club (SPC). With a bit of work and some help from the SSAA the SPC should be up and running in a few weeks. What the club will specifically consist of is yet to be decided, but to give you an idea I will list what the plan is below.

We have come up with this brilliant idea of a Poker Club at uni where anyone, no matter what age or faculty, can join. For a 12 month membership it will cost a student $15. This $15 will allow a student to participate in weekly freeroll poker tournaments at a venue that is yet to be decided and also participate in committee meetings when arranged. When the lovely people at the SSAA decide to give the SPC some financial assistance it will mean that prizes will be available for students who place 1st, 2nd or 3rd and possibly others chosen at random. Cash prizes are not available so it would be helpful if you could fill out the Prizes form on this website with your suggestions for prizes if we have approximate weekly budget of $50. There is also a form available on the site for Swinburne students who want to Sign Up.

If anyone was wondering where the $15 membership fee goes to, then good question. The SSAA club rules state that membership fees must go towards the club and they will. We need to buy thousands of the same chips, decks of cards, hire out venues on specific occasions and the rest will go towards beer for the weekly tournaments.
